Is it easier to conduct a business today or is it more complicated? There was a time when businesses were small and local, and although there might have been long-distance connections, it was easier to keep track of clients and know who you were dealing with. In terms of security, all a business owner had to worry about was locking the gates at night and maybe hiring a security guard. Today, there are many more ways to do business with the incorporation of the internet. The positive aspect of this is an exponential increase in possible networks and a dramatic revolution in the ways a business can interact with its customers. There are some businesses that have found great success in the new technological age and others that probably couldn’t even function without the internet. The negative side of this is that a whole world of possible threats has been introduced to the business world in the form of computer attacks on business network security. It used to be that the only attacker you had to worry about was a thief bursting through your doors, but now there are a whole bunch of other threats to small business network security that you can’t even see.
