Easy Weight Loss For Lazy People
83When I was 21, I could pretty much eat anything and still be skinny. I was so skinny that my hip bone used to be visible. There was one time my then-girlfriend fell onto my protruding hip bone and actually got hurt. Over a decade later, I wouldn’t say that I’m fat but I certainly no longer weigh 150 pounds like I did in University. If my current girlfriend fell on me today, she would be met by my soft and comfortable tummy. I’ve had three distinct periods where I decided to lose weight and each time I succeeded. It wasn’t all that hard to figure out, it took a combination of exercise and better eating. The hard part is keeping it off, but that will be the subject of another article. The thing you should know about me is that I love to eat. I’m also somewhat lazy so using exercise equipment is out for me. The tips I’m going to give you come from that perspective. These are easy weight loss tips for cutting calories that don’t require too much effort on your part. Keep in mind, few of these tricks will work on their own – they need to be done in conjunction with the others to allow for an overall decrease in your calorie intake. You should probably exercise too, but we all know how horrible that is so I won’t harp on it too much.
Easy Weight Loss – Changing Habits
Drink more water – this one is easy, even I can do it. We’ve all heard you should drink 8 glasses of water a day. I don’t know if I’ve ever drank that much and if I did I guess I’d have to write an article about my new favourite hobby – peeing. But seriously, drinking more water is a good way to get your body nice and healthy in general. It won’t impact calorie intake directly; but indirectly, it helps your body to run at peak efficiency putting yourself in the best position possible to lose weight.
Eat Breakfast – It’s important not to skip any meals because it will mess up your metabolism and make you hungrier throughout the day. This doesn’t mean you should be eating steak and eggs every morning, but some fruit or cereal is a good way to wake up your body in the morning and get things going. If you have to have bacon, choose Canadian bacon because it’s leaner and comes from a really good country.
Eat In – Restaurants don’t really care about your health. Their goal is to make their food as tasty as possible so that you’ll come back for more. When you cook for yourself you can control the portions of oil, salt, butter, and high cholesterol foods – things that restaurants use to excess.
Eat slowly – This one is hard for me because I tend to scarf things down. But it’s been proven that when you slow down and take the time to savour while you chew, your stomach will have time to register the food and tell your brain that you’re full. If only my brain didn’t respond by telling my stomach to shut up.
Easy Weight Loss – Cutting it out
Drink less Coke – a can of Coke has 160 calories. Cutting it out would allow you to run a couple less laps around the track. Diet Coke has 0 calories but it’s still loaded with sugar and it tastes like rusted metal. Fruit juice can have the same number of calories as a can of pop so unless it’s squeezed straight from the orange, be careful about consuming too much. I’ve found when I need a hit of carbonation that soda water is a good cheaper alternative. Although every time I’m at a bar and I order soda water people assume that I’m a recovering alcoholic.
Mayonnaise – I love mayonnaise and it’s a proven fact that it makes everything taste better. So I’m not suggesting that you cut it out entirely or even to use the substandard tasting light brands. But there are plenty of opportunities to reduce the mayonnaise that you eat. One less slather of this glorious product can reduce a lot of calories. Whenever I eat a Mcchicken sandwich, I use a French fry to scoop out a bunch of the mayonnaise thereby eliminating the calories I would have gotten from the sauce plus that one French fry. See, you can be lazy and efficient for fast weight loss at the same time.
Milk – When I was a kid, my parents used to give me homogenized milk. It’s a wonder I didn’t explode from a heart attack at the age of seven. Try using skim or 1% milk as it is much healthier. Incidentally, I recently had a glass of homogenized milk and after years of drinking skim milk, it was like drinking liquid butter. It was actually pretty gross so homogenized milk isn’t something you’re really going to miss.
Ice cream without the cone – What are you ten years old? Ice cream cones are packed with sugar and calories. Put the ice cream in a cup and pick up a spoon you baby.
Tuna – I love a good tuna fish sandwich. I don’t know what it is about this particular fish but anytime I’m not sure what to eat, I can depend on tuna to be a quick and easy option. Sure I’m probably ingesting some mercury and dolphin parts, but it’s still delicious. The thing to be careful about is whether the tuna is packed in water or oil. Avoid the oil and you’ll avoid unnecessary calories.
Conclusion
These are a few of the things I’ve been able to do to keep myself from getting too huge. Of course, there are many other things that I’ve dabbled in such as switching to brown bread, steaming vegetables, and eating less meat – but in terms of overall sustainability given my animalistic love of food, the tips I’ve listed are pretty easy to keep up. You can take a look here for diets tips that didn't work for me. In the end what I've come to accept is that I’m still going to eat the occasional steak, but I’ll cook it with less oil, little salt, and without my favourite topping of mayonnaise bacon butter.

I will definitely try these tips! I agree habee about sodas and was shocked when my son learned at school that one can of cola averages 10 tsps of sugar. Something he learned in science at school and I was floored!
nice tips, directly to the point. Nice hub
I am inclined to be lazy - hence, I appreciate your weogjt loss tips. Thanks.

All good tips! I gave up sodas for Diet Hawaiian Punch. It has only 10 calories per serving and lots of vitamin C!
